Nic Applegate began his career at a young age in the United States Military, serving a total of 17 years in the armed forces. While serving as an Apache helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army, Nic started his own construction company from the ground up. His construction company developed, constructed, and restored dozens of commercial and residential projects in Georgia and South Carolina.

While running his construction company, Nic's talents began to cross over into EB-5 projects involving the entertainment industry. As an Executive Producer, Nic has been involved in award winning projects, notably featured at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2008, Nic established Gate Industries, bringing his financial expertise gained from working in the construction and entertainment sectors to the EB-5 field. Nic has successfully established EB-5 Regional Centers along the East Coast and consulted on over a dozen of projects in a multitude of industries.

Nic is considered to be an expert in the EB-5 community and continues to help shape the future of the EB-5 program by working with organizations like IIUSA, a not-for-profit industry trade association for the EB-5 Regional Center Program. Nic frequently speaks at EB-5 conferences and seminars, and is called upon by other professionals within the EB-5 community for guidance. His goal, like many others, is to see the EB-5 Program grow and evolve.
